But he took it all with grace
He could only remember what was good

Nor would have she for that matter
But they understood together
Goodbye was a fickle thing for them
Because there never was goodbye
“where do you think we’ll be 10 years from now?”
She asked
He sighed
A smiling sigh
“under the stars”
“if you think about it, we‘ll always be in the same place“
She put her head on his lap
Switching her sight
From the sky
To his face
Noticing how close both of them are
With the right perspective
“Im glad for yesterday”
She said.
He looked down at her
Why yesterday?
“Because today could have not happened at all
And im glad to have another day
To remember what did”

The cellophane of a memory
Turning gold with the eclipse of doubt
All the simple things came rushing in

Her scent
His jokes
Her laughter
Everything was beauty
And nothing could change that
She put her ear to his chest
