Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the Comedian is the only thing that makes sense.Mood: contemplative Posted at 3:32 AM Jul 29view more
Um duh. Photography. Writing. Being artsy and stuff- with a touch of technology.
I like to knit sweaters in my spare time... and by "knit" I mean "slap" and by "sweaters" I mean "hookers."
Basic grammar and language skills are essential in life if you expect to be taken seriously. I judge you by your intellect, your spelling and your lack of Shakespearean knowledge.
{Listen, and listen well. I really like the band N-Sync. My favorite member is Harpo. I think there's a Harpo. If not there should be!}
Music
I'm pretty sure there isn't a problem that can't be solved by listening to a Paul Simon song.
Some of my favorite bands/artists are:
Paul Simon, I guess that Garfunkel dude was pretty good too! Imogen Heap, Vanessa-Mae, The Offspring, Aerosmith, Blink 182, Muse, Def Leppard, 30 Seconds to Mars, Dashboard Confessional, L7, Wheatus, Naughty By Nature, Tom Petty, Three Doors Down, The Cars, Paul Simon, Blue October, Withdrawal, AC/DC, Stroke 9, Snow Patrol, Matt Kearney, Pink Floyd, Beastie Boys, Queen, the Beatles, Bobby Darin, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Ella Fitzgerald, U2... and Paul Simon. But I'm biased.
Movies
First off I would like to add that Airplane! is the funniest movie ever... "oh it's a big pretty WHITE plane with curtains in the window and wheeeeeeeels and it looks like a big Tylenol!"
Horror and Sci-Fi please... with the occasional chick flick and Bruce Willis movie in between.
I have a slight obsession with the undead.
Television
Not that it matters...
Dexter, Weeds, Lost, Nip/Tuck, Reno 911, South Park, Colbert... I miss Firefly, Farscape, MST3K and Northern Exposure!
Books
I adore anyone who made an impact with early literature, Shakespeare is the man, Aristotle, Homer, Oscar Wilde, Hemingway, Tolkien to name a few. Newer authors would be Augusten Burroughs, Kurt Vonnegut, Lauren Weisberger, and Douglas Adams... oh and all those cool people that write the Star Wars fiction. I try not to appear too smart but literature is a necessity in life.
I'm currently reading The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer.
Heroes
Joe Calzaghe, Annie Leibowitz, Cindy Sherman, Paul Simon, Monica Bellucci, George Romero, Oscar Wilde, Douglas Adams, Carrie Fisher, Elizabeth Wurtzel, Amy Heckerling, James Cameron, Trey Parker, Mitch Hedberg, Carlos Mencia, Broken Lizard, Matt Stone, Shawn and Ed, Thomas Lennon, Mike Martinez, Amanda Stewart, Amie Kafer, Sheryl Houston, RDO (rudo), Dave Munsey, Kris Kitchener... see photos for more.
(*note there is no real order to these*)
Yo I'm Cara- a San Diego based photographer and web designer. I started with English and ended with Web Design; go figure. I've been there- I've done that. Exciting.
Wisdom of the hour:
"They say the definition of madness is doing the same thing and expecting a different result."
I'm short in stature, tall in power, narrow of purpose and wide of vision... and I don't travel with peasants and beggars!
A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. "Never leave that till tomorrow," he said. "Which you can do today."
This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say. I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo?
The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can't pretend we hadn't been told. We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day.
Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beats the hell out of never trying...
Current Gallery Exhibition:
This marks my third exhibit and I have six photos on display. I'm pretty busy with school so I doubt I'll be putting up anything else until I've had time to gather my mind and organize the chaos that is my external hard drive.
Thank you for those who participated in the exhibit!!
Who I'd like to meet:
Star Wars Geeks. Blood Elves. Hobbits.
In that order. Alliance sucks.
