AQUILA have been featured on BBCi, Oxfams's Generation Why?, Sky Channel Red, Music News, Raj TV, Salvo and Infuzedzine. They have featured in the films Wheeler, A Short Silent Film About Death, and Oxfam From The Ground Up, and the computer games SuperCrazyGuitarManiac and Guitar Hero. They have supported acts such as Editors, Tom Baxter, Luan Parle and Maximo Park. They have also received airplay from BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Radio, BRMB, Heart FM, In The Belly, Marlow FM, BBC Radio WM and the David Lynch Foundation's Eden's Hour.
Film maker David Lynch is a good point of reference for the band. The songs on 2009's album No More Your Lover have a cinematic feel, describing crimes of passion, serial infidelity, suicide, doomed romance and alienation, leading the band to categorise themselves as "Indie Noir". The latest release, the Let Me Go E.P, sees them move into more anthemic territory while retaining the trademark intensity and intimate lyrical concerns of their debut.
"I see myself as a traditional singer-songwriter... but a really loud, unhinged one. I tend to write alone, I do all I can to a song, but it's the band that breathes life into it... it's just about capturing negative events and feelings and refusing to be subjugated by them, turning them into something beautiful and powerful" Richard Stokes, 2009.
While unique in their style, AQUILA have invited vocal and musical comparisons to Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin, The Veils and The Smiths. Their guitar-oriented assault will also delight fans of The Gutter Twins, Muse, HIM and Nirvana. However, admirers of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Nick Cave will find much to enjoy in their classic songwriting and soulful, featherlight acoustic touches.

We are happy to see a good year go towards a good end. Again we will be playing our Christmas Show in the Moscow Megasphere - and that really makes us happy. The Moscow crowd is one of the best in the world and we would love to have you all with is. It's gonna be one hell of a rock party!
