About me: Our Mission:
The Pride Collaborative is a comprehensive program that supports the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer community through promoting acceptance and understanding here at the University of Nevada, Reno and in Northern Nevada. We work to accomplish the full inclusion of LGBTIQ people via curricular and co-curricular support to students, high school outreach, community service, providing a safe space, social interaction, political activism, and encouraging an overall queer-positive environment on campus and in the community at large.
Who I'd like to meet: Our community center is primarily a safe haven and supportive space where GLBTQI people and our allies can come together in a safe and casual atmosphere. Above all else, our concern is for the health and well-being of the Reno metro LGBTQ population.
About this page: I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
