Listening to Oklahoma City rock band Aranda is something like hearing an explosive hybrid of the atom bomb and all of Woodstock combined. They are an experience.
Brothers Dameon and Gabe Aranda have been writing, playing, and singing music together since they were kids, and even at a young age, they knew that music was going to be a major part of their lives. Dameon grew up to work with Grammy-nominated producers Sam Watters, Louis Biancaniello, and Mark Ronson. After years of playing shows all over the country and working with some of the biggest names in the music industry, 2009 is seeing them finally get their due.
2009 saw Aranda’s first single, “Still in the Dark,” climb into the Top 30 in rock radio across the country, and American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson decided to cover two of the band’s songs on her newest album, All I Ever Wanted.
One of the songs she covered, “Whyyawannabringmedown,” is Aranda’s follow-up single to “Still in the Dark.” The high-energy song is an in-your-face rebellion, and was selected by the WWE as the official theme song of their event The Bash.
Aranda recently released a deluxe edition of their 2008 self-titled debut album, which includes live tracks and a radio mix of “Whyyawannabringmedown.”
Additionally, Aranda just launched a huge summer tour with Kentucky rockers Tantric. Dameon and Gabe are no strangers to sharing the stage with big names in rock: during the past year, they have performed with hit bands such as the All American Rejects, Saliva, Shinedown, Puddle of Mudd, Theory of a Deadman, and Black Stone Cherry. With the brothers’ flawless harmonies and passionate onstage performances, Aranda is a live show you’ll never forget.
“We want to create high energy, keep rocking, keep everybody entertained. We want to involve the audience and make it fun for them,” guitarist Dameon says. “Our hope is that you’ll keep coming back for more.”
Hi, Guys!! Hope 2010 is treating you well. I bought tickets online (5) for The Wormy Dog and OKC Limits, but was unable to come due to bad road conditions. I know that you're headed back to the studio to work on a new album, but can you PLEASE squeeze in another OKC show soon??? I know Tulsa won't come around until your next tour, but I never mind coming to OKC to see you. Pretty please!?!?! I'm having serious withdrawals.
Heyaz where can I find vids from your all's live streaming at the Oklahoma City Limits show on 1/30??? I didn't get a chance to record any of the Michael Jackson stuff, I really want to see it.
Hi Aranda, thanks so much for the add and support. Hope you can make a show soon and more shows are on the way, so stay informed on our blog titled "Upcoming Shows". Have a great day and Rock On!!! T
Kind of excited about this, so I thought I'd share...
As of tonight, I can play "Gravity" on the piano! The whole song... Right along with the studio and the live version from the DVD. I'd worked up a basic little easy version a month or so ago, but now it's actually turned into something pretty neat.
I've never been able to play piano by ear before this song. I could pick out a melody line, but couldn't really do chords, and definitely couldn't figure out where the left hand fit into the mix. Couldn't improv anything to save my life. It all came together with "Gravity"... Kinda funny, since the whole thing started because that big riff at the end of the song got stuck in my head and I figured it out on my phone's keyboard app. :)
So I thought I might as well say this "out loud"... Thank you for that song. It was apparently the key that unlocked what I've desperately wanted to be able to do for most of my life.
Well well well lol finally coming back to ardmore!!! This is awesome!! So ready to see the show that is going to be the one that freaking rocks Ardmore Ok!!!
So, I was preparing my easel for my next painting which is NOT of you guys and I had the sketched canvas sitting on the floor. My cat projectile vomited on it......is this some sort of sign?
