Born in 1984 in Rennes (France) Myriam Arbouz started music by singing and playing the piano at the Maîtrise de Bretagne conducted by Jean-Michel Noël in 1993.
Her interest in music which never stop growing, led her following studies at the Conservatoire National de Région de Rennes, in 2001 with Martine Surais (singing) and in 2002 with Pascal Dubreuil (Harpsichord and Baroque singing), and at the University of Rennes II for Musicology. She graduated in 2004 with a D.E.M. in classical singing and early chamber music. During this time, she took part to the Rennes' opera choir (conducted by Gildas Pungier), Sequenza 9.3 (conducted by Catherine Simon-Piétri) for contemporary music, and various ensembles specialised in early music both renaissance and baroque.
In 2005, she went to the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles, where she worked with the French organist Frédéric Desenclos, and the French luthists Benjamin Perrot and Eric Bellocq.
She attented some master classes with Guillemette Laurens, Noémi Rime, Howard Crook, Bruno Boterf, Stefan Genz, Alain Buet, Isabelle Poulenard, Nigel Cliffe, Maarten Konigsberger, Richard Wistreich, Emma Kirkby, David Owen-Norris, David Wilson-Johnson…
She performed many concerts in France and Europe (Croatia, Hungary, Nederlands, Germany, Switzerland) in ensembles with conductors such as Edward Higginbottom, Ton Koopman, Jos Van Veldhoven, Patrick Cohen-Akénine, Martin Gester, Catherine Simon-Piétri, and Jean-Christophe Spinosi. As a soloist, she performed Bach-Johannes Passion in Paris, Buxtehude, Bruhns and Weckmann cantatas, and French baroque motets with the French organist and cembalist Benjamin Alard in Germany (Köln) Switzerland (Lausanne), she played and sang in “Athalie” by Racine staged by Alexandra Rübner, during the Académie Bach d’Arques la Bataille in 2006.
In 2006, she went to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam where she is presently student with Valérie Guillorit. She regularly works with professional choirs and ensembles such as Collegium Vocale-Gent, conducted by Philippe Herreweghe, Ensemble Européen Pygmalion conducted by Raphael Pichon, and since 2006, with the french organist and cembalist Benjamin Alard.
