Arcadia is a 5-piece Pop/Reggae band from Flint, MI which formed in 2006. Songwriters Larry Ford (Lead Vocals/Guitar) and Aaron McWilliams (Guitar), influenced by Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, and G Love & Special Sauce, began blending their music and lyrics and noticed a promising chemistry. The songs brought interest to some fellow musicians from their area, so Larry and Aaron jumped on the opportunity to start the band adding Patrick McCarty (Bass/Vocals), Bud Rednower (Keyboard/Vocals), and Beni Schlatter (Drums/Percussion). Performing and writing for well over a year, the band decided to spend some time in the studio and recorded their independently released debut album “Some Songs For You” in December 2007. Arcadia has taken full advantage of having a professional product as people from all over Michigan and the country continue to join their loyal fan base.
In Arcadia’s young existence, they have had the opportunity to play some exciting shows and learn a lot about themselves and the music industry. Though opening up for Grammy Award Winner, Common, at the University of Michigan – Flint’s Fuse Concert may be the most highly regarded, Arcadia has played over 200 shows statewide in many concert venues such as, The Intersection (Grand Rapids), The Machine Shop (Flint), Grand Valley State University (Grand Rapids), Kettering University (Flint), Downtown Wake Wars at The B.O.B. (Grand Rapids), Mixer on the Mall (Kalamazoo) and the noteworthy Flint Art Fair.
Arcadia is known for its upbeat melodies and strong lyrics, and for its energetic and heartfelt live performances. As they express their music in the studio and on the stage, Arcadia continues to generate interest and buzz as they venture toward their next goal of an EP by late fall or early winter 2009.

The term 'talent deserving wider recognition" is most apt in this case, as the artist is undergoing such strife and poverty that might render any future projects impossible if no audience is available right now. Let us not make her another Van Gogh.
