Brandon Sills addiction to industrial/metal music led him to suffer a number of failed projects (The Psychosphere, X-13, Child) until he fed his addiction as a solo act under the name of Arcane Addiction.
His latest project is a mix of Fear Factory guitar-work with Nine Inch Nails/VNV Nation-style beats. The vocals are a unique mix of guttural, death metal growls and spoken word. And much like his predecessors, AA writes songs laced together with anti-utopian themes.
AA released his debut album, The Occult: Stories for 2012, in March 2008. The album is a collection of songs about government uprisings and the dynamics of human emotions and the psyche told in a pseudo biographical/fictional way. “I tend to write about personal life stories or things that read somewhat easy on the surface,” he explains, “but there's a hidden message that runs deeper than it appears.”
Though his music veers on the dark side, his message is positive. AA is a call for people to stand up and be the change they want to see in the world. “It is a matter of us caring about where we're going in the future and if we'll live to see it if we don't change it.”
Sills also has a number of other projects in the works. He recently mastered an album for Year 200X, a heavy metal video game cover band. He is also working on his own album of video game covers titled Medusa Computer.
Arcane Addiction is currently working on his follow-up album, Prophecies, due out in 2009.
