With their provenance in the cold, cold winter of ‘07, the Archerbolds are a four-piece rock band inspired and influenced by music’s ability to get you moving and get you thinking. Currently doing the rounds in the Sydney live scene, the Archerbolds plan to create a plethora of songs to entice and excite listeners; with their personal concoction of modern-vintage sounds tinged with emotional journey. The band aspire to gain more live-show experiences, and better their musical expression through song with their current recording and writing plans helping to fulfil this. Hope to see ya’ll at show sometime soon.
"The Archerbolds are an up and coming Australian band well worth checking out. I saw the Sydney-based lads play recently at the Mars Hill Café and it was evident that they should be permanently rocking out on a real stage; not in front of coffee sippers. Their floating lyrics, smart guitar riffs and meaty bass lines are infused by The Strokes, Mars Volta, The Beatles, and Led Zeppelin — ultimately producing a freshly spun modern-vintage sound."- Lost At E Minor
hey boys! really sorry but i cant make it tonight, working :( but fucken rip it up! we're gonna get our shit sorted in the next few weeks and organise another show somewhere x
THE RUBYS FIRST BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA - 3 MORE SLEEPS
One year ago, on a lonely Wednesday evening at a forgettable Collingwood pub, The Rubys played their first gig. Twelve months on, the three scrappy-looking lads have under their belts better songs, more gigs and are infecting Melbourne audiences with catchy, raw, stomp rock n roll pretty much weekly. So to mark the milestone of reaching the ripe old age of one, The Rubys are celebrating with a birthday party! With around 40 gigs down over the previous year and a wildly raucous live set, there has been a lot of jumping around and beer consumed so this Friday at the Old Bar will be no exception. Expect some wild blues-driven sets by The Volatiles and The Bellows to warm things up, and the boy’s favourite two-piece The Cheats bringing it all home. 8:30 start, $8, Party hats provided.
Hope to see you down there and we can all rock out!!
