I also love "Weird Al" Yankovic, Aerosmith, GWAR, Madonna, Janis Joplin, Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Metallica, Johnny Cash, Meredith Brooks, Fionna Apple, Sarah McLachlan, Rasputina, Fleetwood Mac, the Rolling Stones, and No Doubt. And Bach, Beethoven and Wagner. Actually, I like most all types of music, except Country & Western or overtly vulgar stuff (GWAR being the one exception).
I've recently developed a liking for Matisyahu, the Jewish Hasidic reggae artist. | | Movies | I'm a huge fantasy, horror and sci-fi movie junkie. I love most anything with Vincent Price or John Goodman, and most stuff by Alfred Hitchcock, Mel Brooks, Richard Matheson, and George Romero. I love zombie movies.
One of my all-time fave movies is Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Christmas.
Other faves include: Akira, Alien/s, Animal House, Batman Begins, Blues Brothers, The Crow, The Dark Crystal, Dark City, Dawn of the Dead (both versions), Demon City Shinjuku, Dracula (Lugosi, Lee, Langella or Oldman), Edward Scissorhands, Evil Dead (and its sequels), Fallen, Frankenstein (Karloff or DeNiro), Friday the 13th (most all of 'em), Halloween (most all of 'em), the Harry Potter films, Hellboy, Hellraiser (and all its sequels), Labyrinth,Land of the Dead,Legend, Lily C.A.T., The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Legend, Metropolis, The Mummy (Karloff or Vosloo), Night of the Living Dead (both versions), Nightbreed, Nightmare on Elm Street (most all of 'em), Ninja Scroll, Predator (both), Re-Animator (and the sequels), Return of the Living Dead (all 3 of 'em), Shaun of the Dead, Sin City, Slaughter Disc, Somewhere in Time, Spider-Man (both), Star Wars (and most of the sequels), The Thing (both versions), Wicked City, X-Men (both), and Vampire Hunter D. | | Television | TV's a huge wasteland. I hate all the so-called "reality" tv shows.
There are, however, a few shows I try and catch whenever I can. Jeopardy!, Comedy Central's The Daily Show (with John Stewart), Iron Chef and Good Eats (both on Food Network; Alton Brown rocks), and Mythbusters. Oh, and Monster Creature Feature. I've also grown quite fond of G4TV.
I also like Battlestar Galactica (I like the new one more than the old one), CSI, ..Doctor Who (all incarnations), Family Guy, ..Heroes, The Simpsons, Smallville, and Stargate (both SG-1 and Atlantis).
When I can catch re-runs of them, I like Alien Nation, Angel, Babylon 5, Bionic Six (Hail, Scarab!), Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Centurions (Power: Extreme!), Dark Shadows, Farscape (why did Sci-Fi cancel this?!), Firefly, Forever Knight, Friday the 13th: The Series, Fullmetal Alchemist, Futurama (which I like better than Family Guy or Simpsons), G.I. Joe (COBRAAA!!!), Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (why did CN cancel their new version?!), Inuyasha, Invader ZIM, The Invisible Man, Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, Kolchak the Night Stalker, LEXX, The Outer Limits (both versions), Powerpuff Girls (love that Mojo!), Quantum Leap, Robot Chicken, Silverhawks, Skeleton Warriors, Sliders, Tales from the Crypt, Tales from the Darkside, Teen Titans, ThunderCATS, TigerSharks, Transformers (especially Beast Wars), The Twilight Zone, X-Files, and all the various comic book-inspired cartoons (various Fantastic Four, Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and X-Men series).
Mostly, my tv stays on Animal Planet, Cartoon Network, the Discovery Channel, Food Network, G4, or the Sci-Fi Channel (though, lately, Cartoon Network & the Sci-Fi Channel have really let me down).
Gah, I do watch an awful lot of tv..... | | Books | My Top 3 Faves are the Harry Potter books, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Hickman & Weis's DragonLance novels. I also like most stuff by Isaac Asimov, Greg Bear (Blood Music, The Forge of God, Hardfought, Queen of Angels), Robin Cook (Chromosome 6, Invasion, Mutation), Stephen Hawking (The Theory of Everything: The Origin and Fate of the Universe), J. Gregory Keyes (The Age of Unreason trilogy), Stephen King, H.P. Lovecraft, George R. R. Martin, Richard Matheson, Michael Moorcock, Fred Saberhagen (The Lost Swords trilogy), H.G. Wells, and Thomas Wheeler (The Arcanum). I keep meaning to read Terry Prathchett's Discworld stuff....
