You’d be forgiven for thinking that Archie is just another one of the many independent artists out there; that is until you hear his music. Songs with originality, emotion, and substance are what Archie’s music is all about. Have you ever sat and listened to a song hoping it takes you somewhere only to be disappointed? Maybe this has happened on too many occasions to care about. This was one of Archie’s motivating reasons for moving from an already gifted musician to that of a songwriter. With no expectation that he would succeed in this new role as a songwriter he decided to at least obtain some feedback from people in the industry. One of the main competitions Archie entered a few years back was a competition called “Triple J Unearthed” exposing the best independent artists in each state of Australia. Out of over 1600 artists in the state of Queensland one of Archie’s songs “Butterfingers” was one of about 20 used on their station to promote Unearthed. Here's what Programming Director Chris Scaddan of Triple J had to say when Archie enquired as to where he was ranked amongst those 20 artists: "Hey Archie, Great song! Beyond our winners, we don't have any sort of ranking process, but be proud that your entry was one of 20 picked to be on the Unearthed promos. Thanks for entering, hope to hear more music from you soon. Cheers, Chris" Another one of the many highlights Archie has had so far was working with Geoff Green who played with Aria award winning band George. When George were at the peak of their career they were the highest selling artists in Australia with their debut album “Polyserena” After recording with Geoff, Archie was flattered that Geoff would recommend him for any future sessions he had. Archie is currently in the final stages of his long overdue second album on which he has played all the instruments with a couple of exceptions. The new album should be released in the coming months.
