   About ARCTIC SLEEP
Arctic Sleep creates slow-paced, melodic, spacious soundscapes that dramatically drift between quiet, beautiful stargazing and infinite, hypnotic loudness. Ghostly, whisky-soaked vocals and dreamlike lyrics lurk above a swamp of slow-motion drumming and down-tuned riffing to create an almost psychedelic atmosphere designed to drift the listener far away from reality.

The debut album, "Mare Vaporum" was recorded as a two-peice by founding members Keith D and Mike G. It is five tracks with a total playing time of 52 minutes and contains original photography.

Order the CD "Mare Vaporum" via PayPal by clicking on the buy now button:

"It's not too often that a band self-releases an album that embodies callous aching along with ghostly pleasure in such an impressive fashion, it's almost touching. But such is the case for the Chicago, IL [duo] Arctic Sleep and their 2006 majestic, Mare Vaporum. A slough of slow-motion epics that are no more despondent than they are animated, the long-drawn, reverb-heavy songs on this Windy City quartet's demo album are impious and mesmerizing. It's as if the acidic mists of tracks like "We've Got a Bleeder," "Arden's Countryside," and "Splitsville" are a mere overcast to a darkened heart beseeching to explode with energy. Maybe it's in Keith D's low key growls, snarls that come off stifled by questionable vulnerability. Or maybe it's in the obtrusive and tortuous pulses smashed forth by Mike G's ominous guitar chugging and Keith D's own baleful drum pounds that cause the songs to collide in such a hypnotic, methodical manner. Either way, Mare Vaporum is an ambitious, wooly stupefaction of the battle between good and evil in every human being that is meant to be felt, not just heard." - HOT INDIE NEWS

Thank you very much...we try to check on everyones interest's
or the sounds they enjoy,..We like what you had going on your page...and figured we would take the chance, you would like what we enjoy the most...and thats make music...but for the most part... now that we got that horrible and cheesy statement out of the way....this looks like another typical, but somewhat long band comment...
But heck at least its a comment... Right?

You can almost hear a strange, little bell…

…as you enter our shoppe.

You can now directly purchase many of our songs via our MySpace page for $.79 each, including rare tracks not available anywhere else.

Our only wish is that when you purchased a song, your computer would produce one of our hand-made covers to match. Sadly, no matter how hard we tried, we couldn’t make this happen. But you do get instant gratification for $.79.

Cataclysm.
Madness.
Psychotropic catatonia as accidental defense against Sigil Conjoinment.

All for $.79.
Enjoy.

hey ARCTIC SLEEP, how are you? We put up new songs for your listening. Come on over when you got some spare minutes. If you feel like supporting this pre-post-apocalyptic music we make, please buy a copy of our album. We are small and poorly distributed, but we have a good album for you. Let these songs out of your computer. Hope you're doing well out there.
