ArD2

ArD2 is an electronic music project that uses music and sounds as a narrative tool to tell a story set in an Orwellian future.
The album 2084, released in Frigio records, takes George Orwell´s 1984 as a reference to create an imaginary, but somehow close, world controlled by “The Rock”.
“The Rock”, synonym of the absolute totalitarian government, controls all the information channels as well as the repression forces such as the police. All this control guarantees a collective way of thinking among the population.
ArD2 is spawned as a response to this government of repression dictated by “The Rock”.
ArD2 members are the resistance in this imaginary social order, where they sabotage the information channels, in an effort to shatter the collective way of thinking.
In future ArD2 references we will hear and see the development of this endless war against the media control and the extinction of the individualism.
The concept for ArD2 has been developed by its three members; Ekis and Penélope in charge of the music production and Digikampradesh who takes care of the graphics in this electronic/sci-fi music project.
One of the main goals of this project is to make the listener understand the story explained above, purely by listening to the music. In order to achieve this, the music was made by using dark and dense atmospheres and sinister samples from dialogues mixed with Electro beats that range from the heavy and distorted, to the soft use of hi hats and other light percussion elements.
The combination of the different sounds and instruments would create a specific mood that would, with music, sketch out the chapter of the story chosen by the listener.
