Drawing influences from the South African band Juluka, reggae greats like Bob Marley or Peter Tosh, combining Irish and North American traditional music and the moral and lyrical profiles of folk singers like Woody Guthrie, Peet Seeger, Willy Nelson and Leadbelly, Jonty's songs are uniquely new, but are at the roots of music and meaning.

It's actually been a long time since I have recorded and edited a music video for myself. The Empire song above is about 3 years old... I've got a few songs that are ready to go and, since I'm finally starting get some financial traction and a new place to record after loosing my Mother to cancer this last October, I am confident that I will find time between clients to put some of my new songs out on the web.
In particular, there is a song I wrote while in Senegal last January called, "My Guitar is in Dakar". And I would also like a new version of "Why" with a digital video to match. I think "Why" would go over big on YouTube and the Dakar song will get a great response from my family in South Africa.
