Started playing bass guitar when i was about 17 and in the 2 / 3 years
that followed i switched between bass and 6 string guitar a good few times,
after a while i settled on bass and in 1995 i helped form the first band
i was in "AREA 39"
The first "AREA 39" only lasted a year or so then we went our separate ways
but i decided there and then that if i was to do any music in the future i was
going to do it under the banner "AREA 39"
Over the next few years i had tons of auditions for local bands but non of them
wrote the type of music i wanted to play so i kept looking.
In 2003 i came full circle and the real "AREA 39" was born.
AREA 39 are a 5/6 piece concept/prog rock band based in Leeds.
Consisting of 2 guitars, drums, bass, keys and vocals the band are full of energy with powerful melodies, strong rhythms and music full of emotions and feelings.
AREA 39 offers a very original sound but with a touch of something most concept/prog rock music lovers can recognise.
AREA 39 released the debut album Stand Alone Together which gained radio airplay and reviews worldwide this was then followed by a few small gigs in the north of the UK, since then the band have taken time to create new tracks and perfect a live sound which the band now feels ready to bring to the stage.
AREA 39 are also interested in writing music for tv & film so if you are looking for a composer for a project you have running please feel free to give us a shout.

"DJ Monkey …soul-stirring, excitingly edgy music…just disturbing (read ‘mind-f**king’) enough to demand attention. There is a whole spice rack of auditory flavors here, served up like fractured poetry on a collection of intensely listenable Hallmark cards from Hell." Bill Margold, Cinema Seen, L.A. X..Press
Thanks for the add check out our new album in stores and online retailers everywhere today.
"The Enemy Inside" is the long awaited 3rd album from Prymary. This time around shows Prymary transcending their past achievements and creating a collage of stories that are independent and yet united in the themes of self-destruction and dreams unfulfilled. Musically the band shows a further refinement of songwriting and musicianship with songs that are more concise in musical statement, while still having the grand arrangements that Prymary is known for. As is becoming a Prymary trademark, the band has once again given special attention to combining music and lyrics together to convey the mood or feel of the song. This is simultaneously the heaviest, technical, most prog, and emotional Prymary album to date.
Check out the album teaser here as well as the first single "Egde of Discovery" available now. Feel free to upload it to your page let us know what you think. Thanks
