I love hard rock bands such as Shihad, Fort, Winterun, Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Electric Wizard, Hermano and The Smokestack Orchestra to name just a few bands I've been listening to in the last year.
I also love bands that have a great blues type of soul in them. Blues is the heart of Rock'n'roll. It's the seed from which the tree has grown.
Ultimately, the only thing it takes for me to think an artist is a great musician is to have truly awesome music. I believe that if you're relying on vocals as the driving force of your art, then you're wasting your time. You should be performing in coffee shops not pubs and clubs, because you're a poet not a musician.
