What is Arepaz? Well first lets define an "arepa". The arepa comes from the northern Andes in South America, now spread to other areas in modern Latin American countries. Colombian and Venezuelan migration to the U.S.A. and elsewhere has made arepas available almost worldwide. Its simply a round flat cake of cornmeal (looks like a pancake) which is then grilled but could be baked or fried. About the size of a CD, though we prefer the ones that are about the size a 7" record. Now the word "paz" means "peace" in Spanish. Combine the word for "arepa" & "paz" and you have Arepaz. A round vehicle of color and sound spinning, migrating and bringing our message of justice and peace. And of course, it's lights out and "peace" for all the suckers that try to bite!

The Miami-based record label that produces sounds of future latin jazz, folk, abstract breakbeats, instrumental dub and all forms of electronic soul. Own and operated by Latin American first generation children of immigrants, with a roster of artists that mostly come from Latin American, Caribbean and African roots and many sharing the same experience of migrating. This mix of sounds is influenced no doubt influenced by where our artists are at. Main points are Miami, Atlanta, New York City all being great sources of classic and contemporary soul music such as hip hop, house, techno, IDM, electro bass and funk just to name a few. This fusion and forward motion in rhythm and sound is Arepaz.
Beta Bodega Coalition abstract electronic/instrumental imprint. Based and manufactured in Miami, FL, USA, although some releases are produced in Japan and Europe, exclusive to that region. Founded by La Mano Fria, to take the place of his deactivated Beta Bodega record label. Established in 2005, the label was actually born in late 2004, with release of Bandeja Paisa book that came with a CD catalogued as AREPA001. Releases include a variety of compact discs, t-shirts and vinyls. Arepaz is the official home of AIO, Arepaz Immigrante Orchestra.
