   About The Optimistic
THE RECORD
The Optimisitic is a Madison, WI based Northern Rock band. All songs were written by Louka Patenaude (between 2003 and 2006) except "A Farmer and a Ballerina" and "Honey" written by Patenaude and Joy Dragland. The record was produced by Patenaude in his studio at 1709 Park st. with additional recording a 952 Spaight st. , Aaron Katchers house, and Paul Hastil's house. Assisting this production was Paul Hastil, Aaron Katcher, and Luke Sather. The Optimistic was mastered at Elabs studio by Perry Blanchard and Patenaude. Additional mastering was done at Aaron Katcher's house. All performances on the recording by Patenaude with the exception of : Tamborine on "I Came From a Cave Full of Yellow Singing Leperkhans" and "Honey" by James "Pie" Cow. Backing vocals on "Honey" by Joe Tokyo and Catherine Erhard. Additional Rhythm guitar by Aaron Katcher. Design work by Hans Kurz and Aaron Katcher.

Glad the picture made you smile! Yes it is a bit of a crack up when you think of it. I love the West coast, but I miss my music partner Katie like CRAZY!

I've done a little music here, but it's not easy to hook up. We're in a small town sorta remote, so no clubs to go listen to live jazz here. Gotta go to Eugene and Portland for that and they are pretty far. . .But, the ocean waves are glorious and the country is gorgeous!
