Sounds Like
An exotic brew of the varied rich indigenous music forms of Louisiana: zydeco-funk-second line-meets- Afro-Caribbean reggae-world music sounds that will force you right onto the dance floor in front of the stage to soak it all in. This artist begs you to get closer not only to experience each gorgeous note he delivers with depth and intensity, but also allows you a better vantage point to catch the Mardi Gras beads Simien showers his audience with!
Grammy award winning Terrance Simien and his eclectic Zydeco Experience band mates have toured the globe from Cuba to Mali, Brazil to Australia and from Finland to the Seychelles to the tiny village of Hana in Hawaii.
They have performed for presidents, ambassadors, prestigious law firms, rock stars (and their ex wives), ice cream moguls Ben& Jerry, computer company CEO's, investment firms, Harley Davidson, Burton snowboards and the Grammy awards audience!
They have been featured in major films and television commercials advertising everything from Chevrolets to Sylvania light bulbs to Louisiana tourism.
They have been spreading their multicultural-zydeco-roots-world music for over 25 years and Simien is respected as one of the most "creative and diverse artists in his genre", Amazon.com.
Their live performances are legendary. They have built a platinum reputation on this critical aspect of an artists career: the live performance is more important than ever before. Live music unites us all in a very unique way. For all of us the inspiration we glean from a live music experience (delivered or received) is different from the inspiration we capture from other art forms.
The lifetime achievement award they have received with their 2008 Grammy reinforces the excellence they have reached in their recording career as well as they have in their touring and performing career.
This is a music career that is evolved and developed over 3 decades that continues to create new and innovative music.
