"Not quite folk, mostly-acoustic and all around great music, he’ll sing you into a dream, and then wake you right back up again."

"(a) Light hearted stroll down a jagged cliff to hell"
-perfectporridge.com on "Sunny Day in Hell"
The ten-song electro/acoustic disc is consistently mellow with a laid-back 70's West Coast vibe. The songs are narrative stories that paint a lyrical picture of a particular place or point in time and the disc's mellow vibe hides lyrics that can be sometimes dark and off-kilter. Argyle Johansen is already getting some national attention as the song "Sunny Day In Hell" was included in Showtime's Californication.

"This album is a great addition to the folk pop world. The songs reflect soft melodic sounds of Belle and Sebastian. It is definitely a folk sound, but soft, poppy and accessible enough to pry a smile out of anyone who listens. Layered, full and warm production with instruments that take one or two listens to notice they add a different dynamic. Soft voice from Mr. Johansen, but he hits the notes that make his melodies warm and progressive."

More of an alter-ego than a fully functioning band at times, Argyle Johansen is solely the product of not being capable of working well/playing nice with the other kids.
