Arhai is project founded 1998 by composer and singer Jovana Backovic. It begun as piano - flute duo. As time passed, it grown to ensemble consisting of 9 musicians,six instrumentalists and tree female singers, which performed on the first release "Mysterion". This sound was almost purely acoustic, as it embodies fusion of ambient sound and traditional music of the Balkans.
At this moment, second release is in process of recording, first demo recordings will be soon available to listen thru this profile. This sound will be quite different comparing to first album, with some new, unusual electroacustic mixtures.
Due to this specific fusion of sounds, Arhai's music is usually listed within the broad genre of world music.

Hey friends! Discovered ya on Cosmic Voices page. Very cool stuff. Mostly I do rock compositions for my band Outdated Fate. We're gonna be big one day I prey.
