The whispery, sing-song nature of Gato's material, backed by nothing more than a couple of single-line synthesizers and simple drum samples, may have one of two possible effects to the listener: fitful slumber, or the capacity for flight. The droning bubblegum of Stereolab: yes: the lulling nursery rhymes of Saint Etienne: maybe: the nursing poetry of Takako Minekawa: I think so.
