Ari Lahdekorpi was born in Parkano, Finland but has spent most of his life in central Canada.
Ari has performed across Canada and the USA both as a sideman as well as a solo artist. His primary focus is on creating simple but emotive compositions, but a passion of improvisation adds complexity to the final result.
Letters from Karelia is an NFB feature film which Ari scored. This project resulted in a change in direction toward more acoustic and world music themes.
Ari continues to perform at festivals and as a backup player in and around Winnipeg Manitoba.
