Arimathea formed in March of 2007. Led by guitarist Jason Skiles, the band started writing melodic, and sometimes aggressive rock music that was filled with a message of hope and encouragement. As a new addition to the band, vocalist, Jordan Gandara brought energy and positivity through his lyrics and vocal stylings. Bassist, Joshua "Vapour" Loya humbly commanded listeners and onlookers' attention as he played with aggression and creativity. After persevering through many trials and personal hardships, including the departure of their talented friend and drummer, Nick Adams, Arimathea began writing and recording material for their first publicly released EP, due out in the fall of 2009. With the addition of their new drummer, hard-hitting Ohio native, Brian Christensen, Arimathea is currently working hard on delivering a sound that transcends anything anyone has heard from the San Diego quartet in the past. The five song EP, entitled "Tried By Fire," will feature songs dealing with deeper issues than the band’s last EP, which was never officially released. “We are all really excited about the material that we have been working on over the past few months. We have definitely begun to head down a different direction than before. I have gained more confidence in my writing, and all of us have really pushed and encouraged growth in one another. I am really excited for what we have!” says vocalist, Jordan Gandara. Expect to see these guys moving quickly. They have already begun writing for a follow up full length album scheduled for release by the summer of 2010. “We have been preparing hard for this. Now we can’t wait to share this gift with everyone else!”
