Currently I am working within the moniker Ari & The Shanks. This is an interesting, playful and robust play on the pronunciation of my surname. Webster's dictionary defines shank as "slang : an often homemade knife". I am unsure what my surname means. The Shanks does not, in reality, refer to a homemade knife in this context. It instead refers to one, Justin Kwash (of Justin & The Squash) as well as Brian Litz (of Litz & The Titz). The general idea here is to make an image of toughness while also working in familiar themes and creating continuity of current and past projects.
It is reasonable to say that an image of toughness is outrageous given the somewhat benign content and boyish song-stylings. References to god(s), capital, employment, failed self-love, and greed. Regardless, any irony should be taken lightly and within the frame of an artistic plane.
Soon, there will be alternate internet-avenues for themes related to this new branding. For now, enjoy these songs and materials in their current state.
