Arizona Aloes's Interests
|
| General | I sell Aloes on Ebay during the summer months. My auctions usually are 3 days long beginning on Thursday, though sometimes I will have 2 auctions per week depending on how much time I have. I also have a number of species and hybrids to trade with other Aloe lovers. My trade list can be found at DavesGarden.com under member name Porphyrostachys | | Music | My Aloes don't seem to mind what I'm listening to, but lately it's Coldplay and Robert Plant with Alison Krauss. | | Movies | If there's an Aloe movie out there, someone tell me! | | Television | Still waiting for an Aloe documentary. | | Books | Reynolds published a couple books on Aloe that are now out of print: Aloes of South Africa and Aloes of Tropical Africa and Madagascar (the latter is my favorite). There's also a newer Guide To The Aloes of South Africa by Smith and Van Wyk. There are books on the Aloes of Namibia and the Aloes of Malawi still in print. An older book, out of print, but still found is called Aloes of Zimbabwe (or Rhodesia if you can find the oldest printing). | | Heroes | G.W. Reynolds, John Lavranos, Sheila Collenette, Tom McCoy |

About me:
Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Lightning in the desert
Welcome! My name is Jordan and I'm an "Aloe-aholic." This is my blog where I'll be talking about my experiences, struggles and insights about cultivating the genus Aloe in the low desert of Arizona. I'm considered to be in Zone 9b by the USDA and in Zone 13 according to Sunset. I've been growing and collecting Aloe species for over ten years and my collection currently boasts about 215 species. My main interests are those species from the Arabian Peninsula and North Africa.
