ARK are the newly-renounced kings of Progressive Metal whose three permanent members are pretty prolific. No clones, no imitations just great originality from the incredible voice of Jorn LANDE, guitarist Tore OSTBY (ex-CONCEPTION), drummer John MACALUSO (ex-TNT) and company. The trio were consciously trying to create something very different. Hundred of styles perfectly mixed together, here you can find anything you imagine. Their influences range from prog to jazz to spanish/flamenco to orchestral to salsa and the depth of their lyrics is astounding; this is a band of virtuosoes. The rhythm section is awesome with lots of variety and a great feel for both rhythm and melody. They are completely unique... one of the very few "supergroups" of the last ten years.
With their self-titled debut, ARK delivered the best album in years. Their resulting effort was nothing short of a masterpiece of melodic, progressive metal music. The songwriting is excellent and the arrangements are intricate. Their new album, "Burn The Sun", takes the band a noticeable step further than their debut. They offer a new mixture of old elements and to some extent reinvents the music. In under an hour, I hear everything from metal, jazz, funk, electronic influence to blues in this music. ARK's albums are a must for your collection.
As of November 2003, the band is hard at work on a third album.

This album marks a slight change for a band more violent and thrashy, but still bringing to their music, several progressive touches and strong melodies blended with crazyness... The songs on : The Grace Decapitated are rather more violent and influenced by Enslaved, Metallica, Alice In Chains, Children Of Bodom, Nevermore, Meshuggah, Kyuss...
