| About Arlington Station |
Arlington Station is: Lisa Chambers, John Natiw, Dave Chambers and Ron Ellman.
"(The) performance was great. The lead singer, Lisa, was awesome on her first song in particular, and John's rendition of a song he wrote was fantastic. Nice night, and quite an experience too." - Mark from Plymouth after the first ever Arlington Station show in November
Lisa, John and Dave have played music together in one form or another since 2002. They have been entertaining audiences (and themselves!) as Arlington Station since November, 2007. In early 2008, Ron began playing with the band. Be sure to welcome him into the Arlington Station family when you meet him!
"Arlington Station! Tonight - The Ark in Ann Arbor... Tomorrow - Nashville! We'll never see them again!" - Michael, host of open stage at The Ark
"The highlight, for me, were the harmonies" - Jim from Canton
Folk, Country, Roots, Bluegrass, Cajun, Americana and original compositions are what you might hear when you come to an Arlington Station show. But there is more to this band than genres. What really separates the group is vocal style. As one fan recently put it, "when one or two of you are singing, it's very good... but when all three of you are making harmonies like you do, it's magic".
"That was a great set!" - comment made at the December Eastriver show
"Arlington Station ~ This Trio will blow you away!!!" - quote taken from the Solid Grounds schedule about our March 14th, 2008 show
Although a relatively new group, Arlington Station displays advanced musicianship and a very distinct sound. Lisa has a very strong vocal style, whether she is powering through lead vocals or providing tight backing vocals. John gives the band a variety of sound layers including acoustic guitar, harmonica and mandolin, as well as lead and backing vocals. Dave holds down the bottom end on bass and adds some deep emotion to the music as well as providing a another vocal layer. Ron adds a great deal of professionalism and musicianship to Arlington Station. As well as being a fantastic fiddle player, he can also be heard playing mandolin on a number of songs. The sonic layer that Ron adds brings a whole new dimension to the show.
"I really liked that first song!" - Comment made to us onstage after playing one of our originals, Jesus and John Lennon
More than any of the above observations, though, Arlington Station is a group of friends having fun playing music. We hope it shows.
"Do you know what the speed limit is, sir?" - Wyandotte police officer to John on Fort St. after the January East River show (John, in fact, did NOT know the correct answer)
