My name is Armand Mirpour. Welcome to my MySpace page !
Here you can listen to songs from my coming album "Boy Will Sing for Directions Home", and some tracks that I've written exclusively for you - my friends here on MySpace.
Some of them are really bouncy, like "The Post Panic", "Easy Me Down" and "Curly Boys Law" - others are more mellow, like "Baby Was Held Back" and "Lullabyebye".
They all convey alot of emotion, and some of them carry a pretty heavy tone. But despite that, I believe they are all quite easy to appreciate ! I guess you could say that the "seriousness" is hidden underneath a very hopeful sound. So some tracks might not show their true colors until you give them a few tries.
But when they finally do show, I'm certain they'll all make it worth your time. Within every word, within every note, lies the very essence of my love for life. My greatest wish with creating this music - is to share that love with all who are willing to receive it.

Writing a Song
You know the kind of memories that you just can't help but glorify when you retell them to someone? Many of my songs were born from such moments. Some are pure fiction, some are a little bit of that and what actually happened.
I really like names too. A good name writes itself a song, and I sing it. Like
"Josie" !
Working together with others and Playing with My Band
I really enjoy improvising and expanding songs during live shows! Our live-version of "Guards! Guards!" is a key example of this.
Oh ! Do come see my band and me as we perform live! There is so much energy! All the songs burn and brimm with life, and I feel most at home with my music when performing it to an audience. Even the calmest songs become really danceable when we perform them live !
You can always try going to your local club and telling them to book us! We want to play for you!
The Album
The album title, and the underlying theme during my work on the album has been the definition of the word "home". "Curly Boys Law" is actually a song about finding your way home in the music industry. To those who think you won't be getting your pay - that at the end of the day, you're the one who decides how far you'll go in this World.
It also has a little bit to do with the fact that, even though I've been raised in Sweden and consider myself Swedish - I was born in Iran. A country that my mother once regarded as her home - but that I have no memory of.
But despite what drove me in writing these songs, it's what you feel when listening to them that really matters.
The Artwork
The fantastic artwork below was made by a young friend of mine. Her name is Hannah Arnesen.
You can also send me drawings and pictures if you want! It always makes me very happy!
Look at more great Armand Mirpour art by Hannah Arnesen and other wonderful artists in my "Artwork !" album among my pictures!
Where it all began
The clip below is from a tv-series that aired here in Sweden called "Labyrint". I played the role of a musician on the show, and played/sang my own songs.
You can watch a clip from the mentioned show below. Songs called "Lucky Lady Hotshot".
Lot's of swedish talking in it so, foreigners have been warned.
While working on "Labyrint", I learnt how to play the guitar !
See you!
Thank you for visiting my MySpace page! I hope you will come back soon, and maybe tell your friends about my music as well ! Before you leave - be sure to leave me a comment or send me a message!
And if your not already a friend of mine - add me right away!
Gillar starkt The post panic men måste fråga var Easy me down tog vägen?
