Bluesy Jazzy melodic guitar, friendly vocals, 'crack-smacking' funky
bass-lines and aggressive beats - perhaps the formula shouldn't work, but it
defies genres, it confuses some, enamours others -- but this is ARMiSSAN. Music
for boys AND girls.

ARMiSSAN
- Live @ KL's [Coming
Soon]
A
little overdue, but due to demands beyond their control, ARMiSSAN have actually
released something in a tangible format -- a CD. They didn't want to be rushed,
and thought "nobody listens to CDs anymore", but pressures from die-hard
fans forced them to do it -- well, it is a "Live" album (with a few
tricks up its sleeve).
A R M i S S A N:
Sebby
and Bodo met whilst studying the Middle-Kingdom language in
2004. They were promptly evicted from the student residence after one too many
late night dubious parties. Sebby went on to join the Alliance de
Francais as an events coordinator - organizing activities for the centre, including
inviting artists from France such as Mademoiselle
K, Constance...etc, to perform in China.
Bodo continued his studies at Sichuan University, whilst moon-lighting as a
part-time gigolo/exotic-stripper whilst forming the funk group, Funky-Something,
performing at various bars and clubs across Asia. In 2005, Funky-Something released
their first LP in Asia.
Meanwhile,
Tommy being a mercenary musician (playing guitar, bass, cello,
drums, percussion, claps and the Triangle) started to roam the streets of Chengdu
in 2004, operating as a "clown", sound engineer and musician. Towards the end
of 2005, he met Sebby and Bodo at various music shows. The three guys began
to jam in random places across the province and the gist of ARMiSSAN began to
flow. They joined forces to create a corporate venture entertaining
indifferent Chinese with western contemporary music. Jamming was fun, but it
was time to quit playing and start solidifying their creations. These frustrations
boiled and ARMiSSAN was in the making. In just a matter of days, they
had created an album's worth of solid material.
