Residing in California Armogedon's work is a collaboration of typographic
elements and exploration with the formal structure of graffiti . By looking
at graffiti and studying typography's visual commonalities as lettering,
much can be discovered and revealed. As graffiti matures and diversifies,
more and more of it's aesthetics filters into contemporary art. It has gained
acceptance in popular culture at large and now comfortably accepted as
a contemporary mode of communication. Graffiti has mass appeal due to its
illegality and excitement. Typography is omnipresent in today's PC-based
information society. Armogedon is Striving to blur the line of typography and graffiti
striving to find relationships between the two forms of communication. A
underground cutting-edge artists who push the boundaries of painting and
illustration. A pioneer and leader in the new Alta Modern Graffiti genre.
The art of ARMOgedon, a style known as “Alta-Modern”, abrasively erodes away at the line between two significantly widespread methods of communication: he takes styles from graffiti and digital typography to amplify the features of both. ARMOgedon will challenge the viewer’s comfort zones by augmenting direction and variety to their limits, making colorful displays harshly intriguing.
Upon first impression, one may think that they have seen things like it before, but this demands its own type of attention, as it is an advance upon what was the cutting edge in urban art. It is almost as if ARMOgedon’s work is an explosion of chaotic color and expression, a sort of unity between machine and humanity not unlike electronic music. Where some of the best house and techno songs display wondrously stimulating varieties of sound, ARMOgedon delivers an outburst of vision: the mashing of cultures his mixing board.
