Here is a current review for the new album 'Songs About The Weather' ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Can Pop music get any better than this? Armstrong has put together what will easily be one of 2009’s best Pop albums "Songs About The Weather". This is a collection of Perfect Heavenly Pop songs, that would make the ideal soundtrack for this summer, whether it’s laying in the tall grass on a sunny afternoon and "Sunshine Feeling" filling the air or maybe sitting on the edge of the dock, with your feet dangling in the warm, shimmering water listening to "Picture Of The Bay". Perhaps walking in the warm "Summer Rain" is more your cup of tea and these tunes are certainly ones you will want to absorb.
Pop has not sounded like this in years, bringing back the fond memories of Early Aztec Camera or The Pale Fountains, or if you go back further Chad and Jeremy. There are also traces of the Trash Can Sinatras, The Pearlfishers, Prefab Sprout, Lloyd Cole, Swan Dive, The Dream Academy, The Zombies, The Searchers, The Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, and more - what a blend of influences.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Julian Pitt has mastered the art of creating dreamy masterpieces of pastoral pop. This is the album to Listen to in your month of sundays and the melodies will stick with you and make your days brighter and the warm evenings last forever. This is a wonderful world you are entering and some timeless Pop for you to enjoy.----------------------------------------------
ps - If you have not yet heard Armstrong’s first album "Under Blue Skies" you will want to pick this up as well - it is a worthwhile investment.'

ARMSTRONG is based around singer/songwriter Julian Pitt. Originally a three/four piece band from Newport in South Wales UK. The band (with Pitt as singer/songwriter) appeared in the NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS top ten best unsigned band showcase during the late 90's. There are two 7" vinyl singles available from this period - 'You Deserve To Succeed' (double sided single with another Newport band 'Mumbo Jet') and a double A - Sided Armstrong 7" single called 'Dwell / Bank Holiday Monday). Both were released on a local label called 'Size 8 Records'. 'You Deserve To Succeed' is also available on an album release called 'DIAL M FOR MERTHYR' via FIERCE PANDA. Armstrong are featured alongside The Manic Street Preachers, 60ft Dolls, Catatonia, Sterephonics and Dub War.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ARMSTRONG split as a band outfit during the late 90's and it was not until 2007 that Julian Pitt decided to continue releasing Armstrong songs. A new album was recorded and produced by Ex-60ft Doll, Mike Cole using a 16x track studio. The album, 'UNDER BLUE SKIES' has received critically acclaimed reviews since its release. The album has been sold across the world, including UK, United States, Japan, Spain, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. To Purchase a copy of UNDER BLUE SKIES, it can be found at EBAY. In 2009, ARMSTRONG has a new album release entitiled SONGS ABOUT THE WEATHER. Since the release, songs have been played by BBC RADIO 6, RADIO WALES, CLOUDSOUNDS INTERNET RADIO, ALLFM in Manchester. Many songs have also been played on Radio Stations across the world.
Here are some favourable reviews in relation to both albums................................
:------------------------------'WONDERFUL! THAT'S CLASSIC, VINTAGE, ORCHESTRAL POP SONGWRITING' (TOM ROBINSON - BBC RADIO 6)---- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Under Blue Skies is one of the most satisfying and melodic albums in recent memory......Armstrong's lustrous debut presents Pitt as the new unheralded prince of pastoral pop. With a voice that lilts and soars like Roddy Frame or The Pearlfisher's David Scott, Pitt is truly a splendid find." (ALEX GREEN, EDITOR, WWW.caughtinthecarousel.com - California based Music Magazine). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Worldly....... great, dramatic, orchestrated pop songs..........suffused with the love of The Walker Brothers and The Beach Boys." Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Their songs stick in your head and just don't leave" (Wally@thebeautifulmusic, Canada). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Think Roddy Frame and Paddy McAloon with glorious acoustic guitar, keys and strings and one of the best songwriters you will ever hear.....believe me, he's got bucket loads more classics waiting to be released" (Steve at PostCard Records, MySpace Site)---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ARTIST OF THE WEEK at CLOUDSOUNDS INTERNET RADIO in MANCHESTER. (November 2007) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DEMO OF THE WEEK for as yet unavailable song 'ON GELLERT HILL' (December 2007) on the Adam Walton BBC Radio Sunday Night Show.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
