The Army of Birds were originally formed in the Fall of 1996 in the deep confines of Ozark Film and Video in Springdale, Arkansas. After numerous member shifts, and three name changes, the Army of Birds is back to bring straight-forward, well-thought, rock and roll to the masses! The band was recently nominated in the Ozark Music Awards. Gentry Collier has been playing drums since he was fetal, and has previously played with Charmed. He and Chris were members of the original Springdale High School Army of Birds. He was a disk jockey at KXUA and has more CD's than any human should own. If you see him, be sure to tell him that the Yankees suck! Chris Shelby entered the music scene with the original Army of Birds, and has since played with Just off Turner, and award-nominated bands The Situation and Full House. He enjoys long walks on the beach, Jeep Wranglers, and Rickenbacker 12-String guitars. Tom McFetridge actually jammed with the original Army of Birds, and we are grateful to have his guitar stylings back with us! Tom is a multi-instrumental musician as well as an incredible sound engineer at Ozark Film and Video. Any of the songs on our MySpace have been recorded there, and Tom has done double duty as guitar player and engineer. David Shelby has been picking up the bass slack for Northwest Arkansas bands since the 1970's. He has played bass with former Stax recording artists The River City Street Band, as well as Monarch, Delayed Reaction, The Situation, and Full House. Considered by many to be one of the most solid bass players in the region, we are thrilled that he decided to put aside the fact that his son owes him millions of dollars and join the Army of Birds!
