About me:

A 23 year retired Veteran Soldier who's been around the world at least seven or eight times. Most of it in the dregs of the world but found them to be really spiritual, earthy and if you are creative, fun too! Yep, I'm an old lady but not dead yet, and am a bit of a workaholic due to my previous military positions as Special Agent In Charge/Commander of the only Airborne CID unit at Fort Bragg, NC (yes, we made the front pages of Newsweek in 2002 for all of our Domestic Violence investigaitons). When I was in Iraq I ran the Mass Graves Exploitation Missions, oversaw the High Value Detainee Interrogation Team for War Crimes and a bunch of other jobs my boss didn't want to be involved with. Yep, Abu Ghraib, been there, investigated the investigators who investigated that. Was privliged to be a member of the RePat Team so got involved in bringing Jessica Lynch and the others from combat to Germany (hey, somebody had to get a few beers in before heading over the berm). Drove all the way from Kuwait to Baghdad (it went from goats and camels, to sheep, goats and camels, to goats, sheep and donkeys, to goats sheep, donkeys and cows all the way up, mixed in with dust, dirt and more dust). Started the first Open Wiccan Circle in Iraq and celebrated Samhain in the back parking lot of our compound on BIAP (for you civilians out there that's Baghdad International Airport). I currently hack my way through walls of human flesh playing Civil War Cavalry on the weekends, have finished one book and am half way through the next, tend to paint a bit and play guitar and sing. I'm a writer as well. Not by design, but by necessity. I share my time between Washington,DC and my 40 acre farm in Southern Virginia where hubby (a highly decorated Vietnam Combat Vet, Silver Star type winner, I only have a Bronze Star), the critters and my backyard wooden Stonehenge magic circle are. Due to constantly working under maximum warp high operational tempo and max stress, I tend to do a bunch of other things like adding 12 foot decks onto the house, putting in fish ponds and creating Zen gardens on the place. Yes Martha, I also am well diciplined in the Wiccan ways of Greencraft so can get really witchy and meditative too! I am a Hedgewitch as far as that goes. Of course tending bar at the DMZ Saloon East (our private bar on the property fashioned after my days in S. Korea where I had a bar in my hooch with my Military Intelligence counterparts) is something I also love to do because I love it when the place is rocking, full of people wanting to have a great time and dancing on the bar may just occur. So that's who I think I am, of course I don't have a problem with me being me, you can think what you want and deal with it as you need to. There are not many ladies like me around and don't think because I can do the aforementioned that I can't put on a nice dress and behave when I want to either! :) I like real people who have done real life things and aren't afraid to talk about it and laugh at themselves on occasion. I remember kind is not only a word, it is something we can all pass on in our travels!
