Interests

  • General

My interests and hobbies lie mainly in the areas of having fun. I really like having fun. It's fun. Fun is good.

I like motorcycles, cars, and boats. Okay, I just want a boat, but that's still an interest. I spend a lot of time on the computer, doing webpage design, graphics, and desktop publishing type stuff. I like books, reading fiction, and writing fiction. Though of late the writing has been in something of a slump. I like hanging with my kids and playing video games(mainly football and driving games). I like pro football, but not college ball. I'm always up for sex, heh, that was a little play on words there. Get it. Up for sex… That's funny. I don't care who you are, that's funny. I also like just hanging out with friends, just enjoying life and having some laughs. Those are my interests, though not necessarily in that order.

  • Music

I like a lot of different music, but mostly I listen to country and rock.

On the country side of things I like Dwight Yoakam, Kenny Chesney, Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, Montgomery Gentry, Sawyer Brown, Toby Keith, Trent Tomlinson, Sammy Kershaw, Pinmonkey, and Neal McCoy.

The rock 'n roll side of me likes Sammy Hagar, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Bon Jovi, Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Danny Wilde, Paul Simon, Adam Ant, Night Ranger, Van Halen, and Jimmy Buffett,

Some of the other music I like include the blues sounds of Anders Osborne, the southern stylings of Mofro and Southern Culture on the Skids, the hip hop raps of Will Smith, the latin sounds of Los Lonely Boys, and the more recent works of John Mellencamp. I also like the movie soundtrack works of John Williams, Philip Glass and Danny Elfman.

  • Movies

I don't see a lot of movies, a half dozen trips to the theater each year and maybe a DVD each month. I wouldn't call myself a movie nut, but if I had to make a list of my favorite movies it would look something like this:

Star Wars, Smokey and the Bandit, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Batman Begins, The Last Boy Scout, The Count of Monte Cristo, Ghostbusters, Airplane, The Mummy, Total Recall, and you can't forget Crocodile Dundee.

  • Television

I don't watch much TV. Some CMT, a little Speed Channel, a little Discovery, and some History Channel.

  • Books

I like books. I had a lot of books at one time, but I've decluttered my life. Fiction books, reference books, writing books, roleplaying books, hardback books, and paperback books. Some of my favorite authors and their books would include:

David Gemmell (pretty much everything), Holly Lisle (Midnight Rain, Mugging the Muse, Create a Character Clinic, etc...), Elmore Leonard (pretty much everything), Anne Rice (Vampire Chronicles, The Mummy), Laurell K Hamilton (Anita Blake series), Janet Evanovich (Stephanie Plum series, Full series, Metro series), JRR Tolkien (Lord of the Rings trilogy), Lynn Viehl (Way of the Cheetah, Darkyn series, Stardoc), Michael Moorcock (Elric series, Eternal Champion, etc...), Fritz Leiber (Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser books), Kenneth Bulmer (Dray Prescot series), Robert Crais (Elvis Cole series), Bruce Fergusson (The Shadow of His Wings, The Mace of Souls), and Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park, Sphere, Congo, Eaters of the Dead, etc...).

  • Heroes

I don't have a lot of heroes, but my Grandma Laura and Grandpa Nichols are the two people I admire most. Holly Lisle is a writer and woman who I have a great deal of respect for and whom I'd like to be more like. Those heroes whose ideals I would like to try and emulate; Superman, Batman, and Robin Hood.

About me:

So you want to know a little bit about me. Okay, let's do this thing. I graduated high school early but only managed some college. I've been married twice and have two teenage boys. I've worked with my hands and I've worked with my head, but I find that getting a little dirty keeps me honest. I've done everything from making pizza's to installing heating systems to customer support and troubleshooting. What I've learned is that what you do for a living isn't who you are; it's what you do that determines who you are. I work to live, not the other way around.

I like blondes, brunettes, and red-heads. I can't drink and I don't smoke. I ride a Triumph motorcycle and I wear cowboy boots. I'm an unpublished writer with one completed novel under my fingers. I'm unmarried, I like country music, and I'm not gay. That’s me in brief.

If any of that sounds interesting to you, hit me up and maybe we can be friends. ‘Cause you can never have too many friends. ..

Who I'd like to meet:

Sexy ladies, cool dudes, other motorcycle riders, someone who can give me a HVACR job, folks just looking to hang out, and people that don't suck. Yeah, that's about it.
