"A man with an open heart isn’t as rare a thing as it seems..."
In general:
In times of great evil in my life music is the only thing that has ever helped ease the pain.
It is the only thing that allows me to bare the insipid trials of my life.
Music is everything to me.
I am it’s willing slave; drawn to it’s power and beauty.
It’s just a shame that it has become mainly commercial...
It brings me peace in a life of chaos.
=)
Vocally:
When I sing it feels like everytime I open my mouth that my soul tries to escape.
I put my whole heart into every breath.
There are times that I almost leave my body and explore the area that surrounds me, as though I’m floating along the notes, in and out of everything.
Yet constantly going nowhere.
Instrumentally:
Nothing beats the feeling of just letting go of everything you know about music and letting the universe play the instrument you’re using for you.
Which is why I write my music by feeling it and letting it flow.
If you do this then the sound is pure, unique and compelling and it will stay with you for the rest of your life.
If you are lucky then that sound is harmonous to the souls of other people.
It is as close to religion as I ever have had.
You cannot feel closer to someone than if they play you something and it makes you feel the way that they feel.
This is what I aim for when writing my music.
I never think about what could come next in a song. I just play it.
If it is meant to work out then it will work out.
Afterthoughts:
What you hear is the combination of everything I am, I have and will become.
I give it gladly.
Peace.
