Putting the finishing touches on artwork for the THE SOFT WAVE, the new album on Smalltown Supersound. I'm very excited dear friend & artist TAUBA AUERBACH will be designing original text for the cover! I should have release date info soon...
Also about to mix my recent & wonderful collaboration with ANTHONY MOORE, a member of seminal 70s Art/Kraut/Wave band SLAPP HAPPY. Anthony also made one of my favorite Minimalist records of the 70s, PIECES FROM CLOUDLAND BALLROOM. This release, along with my score for REPLICA (see below) will signal a new phase in ARP music, one geared a bit more towards minimalist chamber music - there may not be a single analog synth on this record.
ARP & ANTHONY MOORE will be the third installment of FRKWYS (pronounced Freakways), the new series from RVNG, that pairs emerging artists with one of their heroes. Other collaborations will include DEERHUNTER remixed by Neu!'s MICHAEL ROTHER, CHRIS & COSY vs EXCEPTER with many more to be announced.
And lastly, putting finishing touches on the Modern Dance Score REPLICA, which has been touring as a Work-In-Progress in various venues around the world and will make it's official US debut at THE NEW MUSEUM in late December. I've posted dates on my showlistings.

Working on a few recordings:
Work has begun on a score for UNTITLED: CORNER, a modern dance piece featuring two dancers from MERCE CUNNINGHAM and TRISHA BROWN companies, respectively. The piece had a very successful debut in Spain in late May and will make an appearance in the US in December at THE NEW MUSEUM.

Also finishing up recording a new record for artist Chris Johanson's AWESOME VISTAS label. It will consist of the soundtrack we recently performed for Doug Aitken's MIGRATION at 303 Gallery. Chris has been releasing some great stuff lately - Sic Alps is a fave! The vinyl-only release will include special artwork and include treated violin contributions from Nicky Mao (Effie Briest). You can see an excerpt of our performance here, flanked by the other participants Lichens (Rob Lowe), and White Rainbow (Adam Forkner). The 24-minute film was played successively three times. Here, Lichens is highlighted from 0:00 to 4:22, ARP from 4:23 to 7:00, White Rainbow from there to the end:

Last but not least, the proper follow-up to "IN LIGHT" for SMALLTOWN SUPERSOUND is also nearing completion. Haven't decided on the final title yet but the working title is "LES JARDINS."
Speaking of which, the label has a new compilation, called ON FIRE, and includes a new jam from yours truly – my first vocal track for ARP "FROM A BALCONY OVERLOOKING THE SEA." Also includeds tracks from LINDSTROM, SUNBURNED HAND OF THE MAN, NISSENENMONDAI, a PRINS THOMAS remix of TUSSLE, DISKJOKKE and MEANDERTHALS (the new Balaeric dreamteam made up of IDJUT BOYS and RUNE LINDBAEK)...

AMOEBA RECORDS have recently launched a blog. The very nice Sarah Rogers interviews yours truly here:
If you find yourself walking in the East Village, an ARP sound installation is currently in effect, broadcasting through the outdoor speakers at AUDIO VISUAL ARTS, a brand new gallery at 34 East 1st (btw 1st & 2nd Ave). I'm a bit late posting this as the first 2 parts of this 4-part series have already happened. Perhaps you heard something as you walked by the other day?
In any case, the current show up now - John Andrew's A ROOM (DILATED) - is AVA's first official exhibit, and is definitely worth a visit!
The installation is composed of four site-specific pieces that inaugurate AVA’s EXTERIOR SOUNDS series. These sound installations are transmitted through a permanent speaker box on the facade of the space. Each of the four pieces play in relation to specific times of the day and presented at those times.

discerning IDM fan and the curious indie bloke. A perfect record."
°°° OTHER MUSIC
"Enchanting, near-epic pastoral mist."
°°° TIME OUT NY
"If the Field's "From Here We Go Sublime" was the electronic album of the

°°° SF GUARDIAN
"Elegant ambiance."
°°° SF WEEKLY
"A beauty from beginning to end."
