Always happy to welcome a new fan! .... ........ ....Arrogance.. ..began in a dorm in Chapel Hill in 1969 when Robert Kirkland and Don Dixon, freshmen at the University of North Carolina, began playing and singing together. Years of honing their harmonies in clubs with Marty Stout, Scott Davison and Rod Abernethy led them to the edge of national fame but the legacy they left on the music scene in North Carolina still lingers. Their early DIY records and insistence on playing original songs broke ground for every band and singer that has followed them out of the Southeast. They went on to make major label records, sign big publishing deals and tour across the country, which inspired others to say "Hey, I can do that!" .. .. To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of its inception, the original members banded together in 2000 to re-issue all of the original albums on CD and perform in conjunction with these releases. This first reunion of the band since 1983 brought back memories of places like the Pier, The Town Hall (later The Mad Hatter), The Cat's Cradle, The Bear's Den, Atlantis, Papillon, The Attic and countless other clubs across the Carolinas where this band laid it on the line for their fans every night. .. .. In 2002, the band reunited again to celebrate the release of a new CD consisting of 12 tracks that had been recorded for release in 1983 plus 10 older tracks that had not been previously released. Perhaps their best effort to date, the 5'11" Record received rave reviews and demands from fans to keep the music alive. Since then, Arrogance has continued to perform -- but always with the same fire and originality that started in that Chapel Hill dorm in 1969.....Want to get involved. . . find out more about ....Arrogance...., want to help spread the word?..Become part of the ....Arrogance Street Team....! ..
