| General | reading (almost anything), writing... i think most of my time and energy go to cathexis (thank you, Josh and Word-of-the-Day) | | Music | i think my favorite will always be Ryan playing guitar in our living room. as far as recorded music, i appreciate almost any genre (though most rap is wasted on me), and i have too many "favorites" to list. despite my wide range of musical interests, i'll admit i am indebted to my brothers and my husband for keeping my music library from growing stagnant. | | Movies | someday i will write a book - or at leas a blurb - about the the holy moments i've had watching movies... Spanglish, Life as a House, Shawshank Redemption, Dead Poets Society, American Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Amelie, Love Actually, About a Boy, Finding Nemo, Nell, Lorenzo's Oil, Bruce Almighty, Annie (the 1982 version with Aileen Quinn and Carol Burnett), Moulin Rouge, Steel Magnolias... the list could go on and on... | | Television | Grey's Anatomy is my only addiction. other than that, i watch Friends reruns or Baby Einstein videos. | | Books | where to start?! i know that Green Eggs and Ham was my very first favorite. once i could do the reading myself, fiction was my first love: The Chronicles of Narnia, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Westing Game, Rookie, Little Women, The Secret Garden, Brave New World, 1984, The Scarlet Letter... in college i found the short story (especially ones by Flannery O'Connor) and poetry (John Donne, Emily Dickinson, Rainer Maria Rilke). now i read some of all of that, plus a giant portion of non-fiction. Confessions of St. Augustine, Ragamuffin Gospel (and anything else by Brennan Manning), anything at all by Henri Nouwen, several John Eldridge books, Blue Like Jazz, A Severe Mercy, Windows of the Soul... this seems like trying to list all of my life-long friends! | | Heroes | most of the folks in "people i want to meet," along with a bunch of people i already know... |

About me:
I'm oh-so-happily married to Ryan (see pics for illustration of said husband). We are the proud parents of Morgan, born December 2004. We're new members of the Asbury community here in Wilmore, where Ryan will attend seminary for his MDiv and I'll be doing odd jobs and hanging out with Morgan. I once heard and Afghani missionary speak and he described me quite well: "I want deep and sincere relationships, I want a supreme purpose, and I want those things to be intimately connected."
