I'm Andy. I make comics, draw things and write funny stories. There are examples of my illustrations and comic samples in the 'PHOTOS' section and a list of some of my comics work below.
Most of my new work is on my BLOG.
Other than that, I have a page at
, which will be of no interest to anyone who isn't into comics, but if you are then check it out. And also...

...so there you go.
I've put together my unpublished comics from the period of 2005-2008 into a little comic to sell at Thought Bubble. Most of these were done in tandem with the beginnings of Coupledom, back when I was going to do a part-autobiography, part-fiction comic. It's mostly profane two-page gag strips about superheroes, assassins and It Girls talking nonsense.
The comic is limited to 30 copies and any left-over will be sold via my online shop online shop.
I have four strips in this child-friendly anthology from Paper Jam Comics. It is out now and can be purchased via their blog or the Newcastle Travelling Man branch.
Autobiographical comics 2005-2009. The ins and outs of a romantic relationship - with all the foul language and stupid conversations this entails.
"the strips are very funny...sort of observational comedy...very warm humour. Really lovely. The cover is gorgeous - really nicely produced. Almost like a modern version of those 'Love Is...' strips...but much more modern. I really, really loved it... It's really funny. Gorgeous. Anywhere you see one you should pick one up... Highly recommended." -- Small Press Big Mouth
Copies are available from my online shop.

I have two rather profane strips in this fantastic science fiction themed anthology from Paper Jam Comics, as well as collaborating on the cover with Gary Bainbridge of Nightbus fame. It is out now and can be purchased via their blog or the Newcastle Travelling Man branch.
I have a two-page Ingmar Bergman-inspired strip in this anthology from Paper Tiger Comix which I believe is still doing the rounds and should be available to purchase from their site.
I've got an autobiographical strip in this anthology, which bridges the gap somewhat between the styles of Melanchomic and Coupledom. It's from the Banal Pig Comics staple, so you know it'll be good - especially the parts by Jess Bradley, Gareth Brookes and (Banal Pig himself) Steve Tillotson.
Last I checked it could be ordered direct from his site.
Autobiographical comics 2002-2005. Full of tales of woe and heartbreak, not to mention rude words and offensive humour.
Copies are available from my online shop.
"a great little comic zine... It is labelled as autobiographical musings, which sounds about right. Some of the humour is offensive, but I would expect nothing less! There are comics about awkward social interactions where you don't remember people's names (this happens to me all the time!) and a part about "twelve reasons for still being a virgin" which rules because he actually includes having a gypsy curse as one of them. This is really entertaining and well-drawn. The people have a clip-art style charm to them" -- Last Hours
"painfully hilarious (or hilariously painful) semi-autobiographical comedy anthology... I'd thoroughly recommend hunting this comic down, it's about as sharp as small-press gets, and features some fantastically designed artwork." -- Gordon Johnston, Virginia Gallery
"observations and humor about love, sex, and relationships with a little self-doubt thrown in for good measure. Waugh's comix are well paced and strike a good balance between insight and humor." -- Midnight Fiction
"A collection of predominantly single page ‘slice of life’ strips that offer wry observations on the trials and tribulations of being a single male. Andrew Waugh’s basic style relies heavily on repetition, but is surprisingly emotive given this (self-imposed) constraint. Despite the occasional – and openly confessed – filler, there are plenty of enjoyable strips, including Juicy Fruit, The Fine Art Of Pulling and Women's Parts." -- Comics International
"what we have here is a record of the first few stumbles of heartbreak, as detailed by someone who doesn’t ever feel as though they will understand what love is. Well, everyone can empathise with that. While the whole tone of autobiography is one that can veer towards self pity (I think we’ve all seen comics like that), here it manages to escape this trap by cheerfully acknowledging this tendency. It’s a neat trick, and undercuts what could otherwise become very annoying. What is left is a winsome, funny little book that provides a few swift laughs and some moments of recognition. His art has grown stronger and is now more iconic than his earlier efforts. It has a crisp, clean quality to it that echoes the work of John Bagnell, or even fellow Scot John Miller. The back cover proclaims that this is Glaikit Comics, which is a great title for anything, and I hope to see it in use again soon." -- Douglas Noble, TRS2 Reviews
"I thought Melanchomic was a nice collection and shows great potential." -- Sean Duffield, Paper Tiger Comix
"inappropriate conversational foul-ups (that wouldn't get through a profanity filter), late-night fretting about how worthless your life is, trying to bluff a chance meeting with someone you don't recognise but who seems to remember you well - that's the sort of everyday stuff we're dealing with here. [He] does know how to time each panel, and laughs at himself with enjoyable good grace...the sort of thing that goes well to students who get value for money by showing the funny stuff to their friends who will each blink in horrified recognition." -- Page 45
