When country performer Chas Collins steps on stage, it's no secret why so many people are sure he's going to be a star someday. Whether it's his signature vocals, his high-energy stage show, or watching the 6'6" cowboy step out on the dance floor just to stir the crowd up even more, he makes it happen. And people notice. And this Friday & Saturday, May 15th & 16th, Chas Collins is here, at Deadwood’s Lucky Nugget Gambling Hall. Don’t miss your chance to see Chas Collins live at no charge, that’s right, its FREE! Visit LuckyNuggetGH.com for more details. Its all right here, at the Lucky Nugget Gambling Hall, located in the Red Light District of Real Downtown Deadwood.

I would like to take a moment and say to the family and friends of the young man who was killed in ART ALLEY - our prayers and hearts are with you. Also, to our non-Native relatives in the local and regional community, we ask that you hold this young man in your thoughts in a good way. We all know that there is still an "Indian Problem" in Rapid City. But, one, it is all our problem if it must be called one still. Two, it is not gong to be amended with tougher public policy or new laws. It is not a political, or even social/culutral problem for that matter.
It is HUMAN RIGHTS issue - including a TREATY RIGHTS issue, and it can only be resolved through honest discussion, tolerance, and most of all, compassion - or in sum, through humulity.
So as we think of this young man, perhaps the suggestion can by made that we can thank him in a way that his life is a sacrifice - needed or unneeded as it may be, still a sacrifice nonetheless - for our growth as a community and as a People.
