Hi, I'm Ginger Hill. I have been an artist all of my life...or at least since I picked up my first red crayon. I earned a Fine Arts degree from the University of Maryland in College Park in 1980. Since that time I have explored many different artisitc paths. I have done technical illustrations and computer graphics. I have taught art to young students at a local Catholic school. I have even dabbled in drawing portraits, floral arranging, cake decorating and decorative wreath design.
Over the years, I have discovered that I mostly enjoy decorative painting, furniture painting, and murals. Painting murals on walls gives me the opportuninty to express my creativity on a large scale. Mostly it gives me the satisfaction of creating "lasting" artwork for people to enjoy everyday for as long as they own their home. I have created nursery murals for families as they prepared for the birth of their first child. Then as these families grew, and the "babies" outgrew their rooms, I helped design their "big kid" rooms as a new baby moved into the original nursery. I really enjoy working directly with families to create unique rooms. I feel the ideas and details that I put into each "creation" also creates special childhood memories for the lucky children who grow up in these rooms. I've been told that my paintings have sparked the imaginations of many kids and bedtime stories involving my murals often become part of their nightly rituals. For me, satisfaction as an artist does not get any sweeter than that.
