Harry Underwood, better known simply as Harry, has carved a singular niche for
himself in the Nashville and surrounding art communities.
Harry was born and raised in the farming community of Homestead, Florida. Prior
to settling in Nashville, Harry lived and worked in Miami and New Orleans.
A self taught artist, Harry's work reads like a Polaroid image wrapped in a dime store
candy wrapper. His characters are sometimes happy, sometimes haunting. The
landscapes, like movie sets, isolate the characters into surreal moments presented
in snapshot form.
Dubbed "contemporary, educated folk art," Harry's nostalgic palette, and narrative
style has attracted collectors and artists such as Sheryl Crow, Bill Bennett, President of
Warner Bros Records, Michelle Branch and renowned artist Michael Kalish to name a few.
