Hakkımda: I'm a Jazz Baby with a penchant for the style and diversions of the Art Deco Era. I flip for the couture of Vionnet and Paul Poiret and my heart skips a beat for a man in an exquisitely tailored Oviatt suit. I love stepping out for a cocktails in historic spots and speakeasies and I'm always eager to Charleston the night away!

My other charms include my dedication to preserving the culture and art of the Art Deco Era which began with the Parisian 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (International Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Art) and ended around 1940. Since 1983, the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles has welcomed individuals with a fondness for Art Deco and an interest in exploring its inexhaustible causes and effects. The organization is dedicated to the appreciation of Art Deco in all of its historic significance and continued contemporary relevance. The preservation of architecture of that era is a major focus of our attention. Walking tours, participation in Society preservation studies and landmark designation, slide lectures, workshops and social events in exclusive spaces are among the various activities offered through the year.
Our quarterly newsletter, The Exposition, keeps our membership up to date on local, regional and international issues regarding Art Deco. It also contains the calendar of upcoming events, book reviews and articles on various aspects of Art Deco and social history.

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
