Reading a good book, living in the now creation zone (the art-making zone), walking down a country road, talking to friends beyond the superficial level. Studying Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of human needs. What do you need?
Music
I like Portishead, Moby, Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, Cream, the two bobs, Marley and Dylan. I love the old classics, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Tom Petty, and Dolly Parton. Also love John Fogerty, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Woody Guthrie and Bruce Springsteen. Great are: Bon Jovi, Spokane Symphony, The Fat Tones, and Caryfly Band.
Right now I'm listening to: David Gray, Jem, Beck, Cowboy Junkies, the Decemberists, and I love, love, love Crooked Fingers. Guy Pierce is great as well. The Vince Gualardi Band (Charlie Brown).
Movies
For movies, I guess I'm a sucker for chick flicks. The last movie I really liked was "Gosford Park". I watched "The Sentinel" but was bored when old man Mike Douglas still gets the hot babe, this time, older babe, still hot, Kim Basinger. Maybe a little "Casablanca" still gets to me, and "Twelve Angry Men" is good too. Even "Saturday Night Fever" still holds up so many years later. I liked the documentary "Born into Brothels". It was pretty brutal, but really, really, good. I just saw "Little Miss Sunshine" -excellent. And "The Secret" -- this a must-see. I really loved "The Magdelene Sisters" and "Maria Full of Grace". I guess there is a Catholic theme going here!
Television
Right now, Six Degrees, for new shows it's canceled until summer!!! boo hoo, and very much "The Office" of course, and Always, "Desperate Housewives". But more and more, I find myself watching Court TV. Court TV always reminds me it could be a lot worse! Right now, watching American Idol, but it's pretty boring at the moment. Now they have made us folks pay for Court TV.
Right now, we're snowed in, so i shocked myself when I realized that I watched four hours of TV. Ellen, and The today show.
Books
"Things Fall Apart" by African author, Chinua Achebe. A great book, incredible. I learned a lot. "The Inheritance of Loss" by Kiran Desai is the book I'm reading now. It's a great book. Finished "Until I Find You" by John Irving. I'm sure this book will be made into a movie.
I just finished reading Virgin Blue, very good. Kind of wierd. But good.
Heroes
Ralph Waldo Emerson said: "None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone." And "People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of their character."

Gloria, Thankyou...it was good to see you too and I really love working with all of you at the Colville Arts...I really like the idea of doing a gallery...I'd be in and maybe some of the other artists here too.
I've remembered your comment often..."There's 2 kinds of people, my people and not my people"...it's helped me many times since, thanks and Happy Birthday! Hugs, Tiffany

Hi, thanks for the friend request. I really like your artwork, especially "Winning the Lottery." I adore the color blue. Your picture of the snow-covered trees looks so similar to my pic, did you notice? We're also the same age - lots in common. See you soon! :) (ps - my page is really new, sorry it's so boring, lol)
