Hello there, I'm Leja Siv. I'm a free spirit. I consider myself a very well-rounded person, and seek out similar minds to reflect with. Welcome to my corner.

Let me just say that I am EXTREMELY opinionated: If you can't take the proverbial heat, stay out of the proverbial kitchen. If you don't like outspokenness, you will NOT like me! I believe that "tact" is a thinly veiled euphemism for lying, therefore I ignore it entirely! >:)

I am a mezzo-soprano vocalist currently studying classical singing and piano (I can also sing "normally"). I have an unusual dark color in my voice, even for a mezzo, and no clearly defined "breaking point". My love of classical singing was ignited by Finnish soprano Tarja Turunen, but my other influences in singing include everyone from Italian mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli, English soprano Sarah Brightman, Greek-American soprano Diamanda Galas, American lyric soprano Emmy Rossum, Norwegian dramatic Wagnerian soprano Kirsten Flagstad, and of course my amazing teacher, coloratura soprano Johanna M.R.!) to non-classical singers like Italian contralto Cristina Scabbia (from Lacuna Coil), among many others.

I'm also the founder, editor, contributor, and general overseer for HAILSwebzine, a web-based magazine focusing on metal music that I began in October of 2008 with a few friends. However, I am currently the only permanent contributor on board with the project. Out of all the genres of music in the world, metal and classical are the only ones I CAN'T do without.

I'm inspired by metaphysics, spirituality, and all things esoteric... things that are perhaps too big for people to fully comprehend in our delicate mortal forms... Out of personal curiosity, I devote some time to the studies of philosophy, religion, and theology. I'm in the process of writing a few Astrology books that combine Eastern (Chinese) Astrology and Western.

I'm a Sagittarius... which is symbolically a centaurian archer (Sagittarius is Latin for "the Archer"). I personally think it's the most badass Sign in the Zodiac.

I'm single, and I'm enjoying it. I don't date for the sole sake of dating; I like people who are intelligent and informed. No dumb-dumbs and meatheads for me, kthxbye.

I'm quite friendly but I'm brutally honest, and I don't apologize for the things I do, say, think, or feel. I do not seek approval from others, nor do I care if you like what I have to say or what I do with my life. I have never been one to take crap from anyone. I do NOT enjoy - nor do I tolerate - being treated like a piece of meat. I enjoy compliments, yes, but there's a fine line between acceptable and unacceptable. Watch where you're walking on that line.

Haha... and since I get asked about my hair alot: Yes, my hair is REAL. I have absolutely no extensions and it's not a wig. Fake hair maintenance requires patience, and I have none for that kind of thing. :p
