About me:
The Epicenter's Final Show was 12/5/08. We had a fantastic time during the three years we ran The Epicenter & will, without doubt, continue to do our part for the local art scene. Currently Tamarisk is booking artists for Sunrise Coffee & Scott is still co-promoting/booking the first Friday after party "Common Ground". Feel free to contact us through this page, but please understand - The Epicenter is no more....
The Epicenter: The Epicenter is what came from the teaming up of Nevada Radiator's owners, The Avant Arts Collective's director & The artist behind the Waste your life. Be an artist. propaganda campaign. It quickly became a must see Gallery during First Fridays. The Epicenter kept a fresh approach on what gallery shows "should be" and gave many up and coming artists an opportunity to show that they may not have had in the past. Each month we had three separate shows in our varied gallery spaces, live music and local artists selling their wares & demonstrating their skills out front.

n.
1. The epicenter is the point on the earth's surface vertically above the hypocenter (or focus), point in the crust where a seismic rupture begins.
2. The epicenter is directly above the hypocenter, the actual location of the energy release inside the earth. Seismic waves propagate spherically out from the hypocenter.

Spring is here and so are the butterflies! This week I have a gallery of a particular group of butterflies called Brushfoots. Brushfoots are the most commonly known and encountered of the large colorful butterflies (excluding the swallowtails) found in Florida and the Americas. These include the monarchs, fritillaries, buckeyes, and the viceroy below (who has nearly identical markings as the toxic monarch butterfly) to keep it from being eaten by birds.... cool trick, huh? :-)
Click the butterfly below to see my gallery - and please let me know what you think!
Very sorry, that was an old flyer for episode three.
The flyer with the time and place for the episode four screening is below.
Still hope to see you there.
