DAOUD SHAW TO PRODUCE NEW ARTESE N TOAD SINGLE "AMERICAN TUNE" (Paul Simon) Spring 2008 featuring guest guitarist Chuck Anderson. STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS!

You are probably wondering about Artese N Toad…right? Well we can save you a lot of time by telling you that we aren’t much to look at, but we really enjoy writing music that we are sure you will enjoy. We are “song chasers” and we are in mid quest, and firmly in middle age. But once again this is not about us; it’s about the music we write, and the process of capturing and sharing it. There aren’t many reviews or written testimony or awards. We do like to make friends along the way and many are similarly interested in “song catching.”

Artese N Toad as recording artists, are part of the growing breed of do-it-yourself artists. Why is that? It’s because the record business as we used to know it has blown up. How that happened I guess we’ll never know. We do make recordings that we are very proud of and are mostly available from CD Baby and i-Tunes. If you purchase our music it allows us to do one thing—make more! Try us out by listening to one of our “Train” series recordings or the new for 2007 “Americana Christmas Project.” You’ll be glad you did and we hope that you’ll tell your friends about us too. All of the links to our recordings are right here on Myspace.

If you are a performance venue or place that would like to hire us we can tell you that we will always bring a smile to your patron’s faces. Your patrons will usually go home remembering one of the songs we played that evening. We show up on time, are polite, and drink coffee. We have our own sound system too.

Since we started writing some time ago we let the songs do the talking. And now, after many years, the audience has started listening. We have been fortunate to play at such notable venues as Nashville’s Bluebird Café, and Bethlehem’s MusikFest and Godfrey Daniels this year. We are lucky to be surrounded by a great musical family which includes our friend and producer Daoud Shaw, and our bass player Michael Radcliffe. We could have not made the great recordings we’ve made in the last few years without them.

If you want to help us write some more songs, tell your friends about us, buy a CD or two, or download a song of ours from i-Tunes. That’s what will help us to keep our little recording business alive and kicking for years to come and new songs we’ve caught delivered to your ears.

Your friends, Artese N Toad

For larger venues Artese ’N Toad has assembled a five piece band of very accomplished musicians including:

Daoud Shaw- Saturday Night Live drummer, drummer/producer for Van Morrison, Etta James, Jerry Garcia band, among others. Daoud is the duo’s producer/co-writer.

Michael Radcliffe- Internationally touring bass player and top Philadelphia session musician.

Bob Tangrea- Fiddle, mandolin, and acoustic guitar- He also performs with the Angel Band and David Bromberg.

HELP PUT THE STANLEY BROTHERS IN THE COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME!

Ralph Stanley has received many well-deserved honors in the last few years, yet one honor eludes him. While many of their fellow musicians and singers have been recognized by The Country Music Hall of Fame, THE STANLEY BROTHERS have been sadly -- some say criminally -- overlooked.

Jeanie Stanley, youngest daugher of Carter, and fan Kaye Hill have organized an on-going petition to change all that.

"The Country Music Hall of Fame recognizes those persons who have made a significant contribution to the country music field," says Hill. "The Stanley Brothers helped lay the foundation for what we have today. Their names deserve to be listed among greats like Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs, who have already be recognized."

You can join their efforts in one of the following ways:

Contact the CMHoF directly:

Mr. Kyle Young, President
Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum
222 Fifth Avenue South
Nashville TN 37203

Or, if you prefer, you can send a letter to Kaye Hill, who will forward them to the HoF.

D. Kaye Hill
PO Box 2553
Harrisonsonburg VA 22801

Kay says, "a simple one-line note is all that would be required, but please remember to supply your name and address, and an email address if applicable. I will be collecting all letters and forwarding them to the Country Music Hall of Fame."

"Don't you think it's time?"
