Art exists in southend sprang, like all great things, from total narcissism. Make no mistake, this is about getting what I wanted. Fortunately, it might help others too, meaning that I have something to fill my void of squandered time and rendering me not entirely egocentric. One night when I was, quite frankly, piss bored, I spent a while reading my bulletins and looking at the god awful shit sack of pixilated whoredom that is Essexuncovered.com and discovered that if I wanted to go anywhere but Zinc I was pretty much out of luck according to them. This I know to be untrue, because Southend actually does have some substance if you look beyond the ‘golden’ mile. Or at least the people forced to live here do. So why isn’t there a site telling you about THAT stuff? Well, that’s the idea of this little thing here you see. So If you have something people want to see/hear, laugh at, read, enjoy, worship (No cults, that was cuLts) in the area. Let me know. Post your flyers on the site, and I will keep an up to date diary of stuff going on, and generally try to pimp your wares. Then, the next time I’m thinking why isn’t there somewhere that I can go and look that that will tell me something good to do tonight that isn’t the chronically illiterate pages of the Echo entertainment supplement, I’ll just go here. See? Art exists in Southend artwork is courtesy of local pencil wielder www.liambrazier.com Go and see his things for they are good.
My debut EP entitled 'Snow Cover', is out NOW on Rednetic Recordings. Hurrah!
'An EP of glacial beat structures carved from ice using found sounds and recordings from a mini disc recorder. These are enhanced by the beautifully constructed crystalline melodies that build and flow around the beats. As winter approaches Hybernation is the perfect solution.'
Its available from the very nice people at http://www.rednetic.com http://www.u-cover.com in Europe and http://www.n5md.com in the US/Canada. I'll also be playing a few gigs in the UK to promote it including the launch party on 7th Dec at The Sun Rooms in Southend-on-Sea. Hope to see you there :o) Stu
