We are part of a growing movement of people and grassroots organisations that are holding out the seeds of hope for a healthy future.
Land Roots invite you to help plant these seeds in the rich earth that is our home!
Land Roots - Aims and Objectives:
Aims:
To work towards common ownership of land.
To raise funds for the Land by selling membership, and in any other ethically sound way
To establish a socially, economically and environmentally sustainable lifestyle on the land.
To bring together a culturally diverse community of people who will work towards the aims and objectives, in a creative and cooperative way.
To work towards good land stewardship, whilst maintaining a healthy balance of nature and people.
To facilitate workshops on traditional crafts and current technologies and create unique and inspiring low impact architecture and to facilitate workshops in all kinds of arts forms.
To network the growing environmental, holistic, and creative community.
To offer a range of events, including workshops, retreats, gatherings and seasonal celebrations
Objectives:
To offer many people a home from home, a space to relax, enjoy, ground themselves, and share in the pleasures and responsibilities of community owned permaculture land.
To develop the Land as a showcase of ecological design, good land stewardship and sustainable community living.
To give ourselves space to nurture our true creativity, explore our real potential and live our lives authentically, in mutual respect and peace.

4 Artists. ALL the money from the sale will go to
buy permaculture land - it's beautifully simple!
It's a great place to showcase your song, plus you'll
get the satisfaction of helping bringing the land back
to the people and you'll be joining a network of like-minded
individuals and artists that could lead to future collaborations
and opportunities. We will do our best to raise your
profile whenever we can by getting messages, e-mails
and leaflets out into the world publicising your contribution!

We are looking for musicians and artists the world over
who are willing to donate a song to Art for Lands Sake.
As well as getting your song heard, joining part of
a growing community and getting some handsome plaudits
from ourselves, you will be able to come to the Art-for-Lands-Sake
musical gathering and enjoy the land that you helped
buy! How can you resist that offer?

What will the Land be used for?
The Land will be used along permaculture principles to plant native trees, grow good food for a veg box scheme and increase biodiversity.
We aim to have a small sustainable community based on the land, they will be the hub for all the activities that take place there.
We will hold music gatherings, craft workshops, arts events, set up a recording studio and much more.
Land Roots is about realizing the power that we have
believing in our ability to create positive change and taking action !

When Land Roots did our launch event and consultation in Nottingham - we had this map on the wall and offered people red dots saying -
'Where would you like to co-own Land?'
The majority of people put their stickers around the area where they live
we expect this to be a pattern
it makes a lot of sense really less miles to travel = less carbon footprint we can grow food there and have a veg box scheme to feed the Land Roots clan
Therefore: We aim to buy the first piece of Land Roots land in Middle England (geographically - not politically)
However - this is a repeatable process - we wanna see locally owned permaculture plots springing up all over the country - so - if you wanna set up a Land Roots clan for buying land in your area - get in touch !

We need artists, designers, entertainers, pragmatists, activists, theorists, leaders, henchmen, advisors, etc, etc... you get the picture! In summation, if you're interested in this project and you want to get involved then don't hesitate in contacting us, the limits of this community are boundless!

Hello People, Sorry about the stupid messages below i'm afraid i got hacked. Anyway hope alls well, and there are a couple of new songs on our space to have a listen to if you fancy. Ta Papa..
As a big thank-you, we would like to reward everybody who comes to see us play at this gig with an exclusive free C.D of our forthcoming E.P, due for completion in June '08! To receive a flyer for this show either ask us in person (if you see us knocking around Bristol town) or contact us directly through our myspace page and we will email one for you to print.
